The app was developed in AppSheet to facilitate an easy and efficient means for Ministry of Environment, Forestry & Tourism park staff to collect monitoring information for the park. Several sets of data collection are facilitated including inventory data, indicator data (target plants, vegetation plots, lichens), Damara tern population data, camera trap data, incident recording, wetland bird count data, rain gauge data, disturbance, road transect counts and park development compliance.
The app contains one to several hierarchical levels for each dataset depending on the complexity of the data collected. It also includes several photo guides for inventory work and for locating previously tagged and measured plant indicators. The data are stored in Google sheets which allow easy access to the data at any time by park staff.
